At 22 years of age Lilla Gagliano has launched her own successful fashion design business in Wickham Western Australia.
Lilla is of Banjima and Italian heritage and draws inspiration from the naturalistic landscape colours of the Australian outback.
Kaninda Designs specialise in Indigenous hand-painted silks, these pieces manage to showcase Lilla’s artistic talent as well as her passion for fashion. Her silk and chiffon textile designs speak with style and express the soul of her country.
The designs are aimed at women in the 18 – 30 year old age bracket and have a quirky and funky touch.
Lilla has completed a Certificate in Clothing Production at the West Pilbara College of TAFE and has recently been running silk painting workshops for the elderly and disabled at the Warawarni – Gu Art Centre.
