Assirak
Fashion Through a Childs Eyes
Assirak is a label aiming to find and enhance the uniqueness and difference of each of the people who wear it. Perth based designer, Karissa, highlights the individual by adding a touch of inimitability to each garment produced. This is done with a variety of techniques including hand painting, printing or stitching.
Assirak aims to be a response to the mood of the person who is wearing it, hoping that they will choose their garments as an expression of how they are feeling.
Assirak is a label that allows the wearer to interact with the garments, through a mixing colors or making use of the multiplicity of each garment. Each piece is created by fabric being draped and then molded around the body; this method gives the garments their feminine, organic shapes.
The current Spring Summer collection is a fusion of opposites that harmoniously blend together, replicating the innocence and vibrancy of how a child puts together an outfit. This is achieved through simple shapes, beautiful fabrics and innocent mixtures of hues. The pieces in this collection are created using natural fruit and vegetable dyes, to create soft colors, with hand drawn and painted prints to create the feeling of a favorite well loved piece of clothing.
Assirak will be displaying their latest range at the designedge fashion incubator agents showroom at the Spring Summer Mercedes Australian Fashion Week in conjunction with 14 other emerging West Australian designer labels.
Viewing of labels in the designedge fashion incubator agents showroom is by appointment with showroom coordinators TCFWA Committee Members, Margaret & Karl Farrell. Phone: 0403 794 445 or 0422 506228.
