L’Amo
Every Woman Meets L’Amo
When Lisa Townsend wanted to find the right name for her business she found herself looking through the Italian dictionary. It was there she came across L’amo the perfect name meaning
‘I love it.’
Lisa designs and creates jewellery by hand using many different materials and techniques. Wire and beads, shells, wood, fabric Lisa uses anything that looks interesting or unusual. Her designs start off like a blank canvas and each piece evolves into a work of art. Some of Lisa’s designs can be re-created but she mainly enjoys offering unique, statement pieces for those that want to stand out from the crowd.
Lisa was born in the U.K. but emigrated with her family to Perth in1997. Her whole life has been about design which probably stems from her love of punk music and the fashion of the eighties. As a teenager she worked in a clothes factory and discovered how to make her own unusual clothes. She always liked to be different. Since then Lisa has studied many aspects of art and design including fashion design, interior design, visual merchandising, jewellery design and the fine arts.
Now Lisa gets the chance for her biggest audience yet when she displays her talents at the 2006 Everywoman Expo. L’amo is part of the designedge fashion incubator located at the Belmont Forum Shopping Centre and the incubator has its own section at the expo.
The Designedge fashion incubator is a creative retail outlet that showcases the talents of local fashion designers. The largest community incubator of it’s kind in Australia the outlet not only gives local fashion designers a chance to display their work but it gives interested parties the chance to make an appointment and meet the designer in person.
