Michelle Miller has Every Woman on Her Mind
Nestled deep in the heart of Margaret River is the Rivers of Silk studio. It’s the relaxing haven of designer Michelle Miller, an enviable location for anyone self-employed but for a creative designer it’s paradise.
It’s also where the creation of wearable handcrafted silks takes place. The latest collection aptly named “Hidden Treasures” gained enormous interest at the recent Fashion Exposed event in Sydney and now designer Michelle Miller will have a similar display on show at Everywoman 2006.
Michelle Miller Designs was formed in 2000 as a need for quality wearable handcrafted souvenirs for tourists was an obvious feature of Margaret River and surrounds. The past 6 years have flown by and the attention the label is gaining has been nothing short of spectacular. The awards have been coming as well as the rewards with Michelle Miller recently awarded the prestigious Belmont BEC Business Woman of the Year for 2005.
The strong Australian landscape and environmental influences are all Miller needs to inspire her to create an amazing eclectic range of silks. The range has mass appeal and the potential to be sold world wide. The collection will certainly again be of keen interest at this year’s Everywoman Expo as part of the designedge fashion incubator located at the Belmont Forum Shopping Centre.
The Designedge fashion incubator is a creative retail outlet that showcases the talents of local fashion designers. The largest community incubator of it’s kind in Australia the outlet not only gives local fashion designers a chance to display their work but it gives interested parties the chance to make an appointment and meet the designer in person..
