Proven Talent: New Terrain
When Teresa Giorgi sees an opportunity she grabs it.
Teresa is not a new face in the Australian fashion scene. She had already proved her talent and dexterity in the TCF industry but recently decided to start a new label, Teresa Giorgi Women’s Wear. This is a label that caters to a modern woman with a sophisticated sense of fashion.
In her own words Teresa commented, “I started my career in fashion under a different label which was more focused on club wear. I saw a gap in the market where you could design the garment to be worn out to clubs OR to cocktail parties, the races etc. I brought out a more up-market look and renamed the label.”
Teresa exhibited the label at Mercedes Australian Fashion Week in Sydney, 2002 and immediately found a market for her innovative new label. Teresa now sells to over 40 buyers.
Her designs are currently based around an “eighties meets nineties,” theme and the pieces created are stunning. They include cocktail dressed in a range of lace and satins and some beaded work.
Teresa Giorgi Women’s Wear will be showcasing their Summer 2003 and Winter 2004 range at designedge – TCF Australia uncovered, Western Australia’s inaugural textile, clothing footwear and leather exhibition being held at the Burswood Exhibition and Convention Centre, September 23 – 25, 2003
Designedge will offer the chance for every player in the Australian textile, clothing, footwear and leather industries to expose their products to leading international and interstate buyers.
The Burswood Convention Centre will be a showcase of innovative products ranging from designer fashion, textiles, footwear, accessories, home wares, textile products and manufacturing opportunities. A unique feature of the designedge trade exhibition will be a complimentary Business Matching service being provided by TCF WA where firms can lodge their area of interest in developing ongoing future business opportunities within the local, state, national and international TCFL industry.
Teresa Giorgi Women’s Wear will be located at Stand No 79F at Designedge and will also be available for private showings or appointments.
Gloss Media, the organisers of the annual Perth Fashion Festival, are coordinating the expo on behalf of the Textile, Clothing and Footwear Resource Centre of Western Australia (TCF WA), supported by the Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources and the Belmont Business Enterprise Centre Inc.
