Cutting the Pattern of Success
Textile Technology Access (TTA) was and still is an essential aide to the TCF industry of Western Australia. Those behind the culmination of this invaluable resource certainly were forward thinking in their approach to fashion and its surrounding industries. Textile Technology Access (TTA) introduced the TCF Industry of Western Australia and TAFE students to the latest in CAD technology through training and consultancy. This invaluable service enabled the industry to become competitive on a global scale
TTA was established in 1989 as part of a joint venture between the Commonwealth Government, what was then Bentley TAFE, and the Western Australian Textile, Clothing and Footwear (TCF) Industry.
In 1997 TTA was awarded a grant from Dept. of Industry, Science and Resources to further develop awareness of and train the local clothing industry to the latest in Computer Aided technology. The grant ran for three years and the outcomes were successful in that many industry members now access the centre to do their own work.
Textile Technology Access (TTA) provides commercial services to the clothing industry using advanced computer aided technology including pattern making, pattern grading, marker making, patterns cut in card, trade sketches, specification sheets, training and consulting.
Textile Technology Access (TTA) will be demonstrating the CAD software used at TTA at designedge – TCF Australia uncovered, Western Australia’s inaugural textile, clothing footwear and leather exhibition being held at the Burswood Exhibition and Convention Centre, September 23 – 25, 2003
Designedge will offer the chance for every player in the Australian textile, clothing, footwear and leather industries to expose their products to leading international and interstate buyers.
The Burswood Convention Centre will be a showcase of innovative products ranging from designer fashion, textiles, footwear, accessories, homewares, textile products and manufacturing opportunities. A unique feature of the designedge trade exhibition will be a complimentary Business Matching service being provided by TCF WA where firms can lodge their area of interest in developing ongoing future business opportunities within the local, state, national and international TCFL industry.
Textile Technology Access (TTA) will be located at Stand No 35 at Designedge and will also be available for private showings or appointments.
Gloss Media, the organisers of the annual Perth Fashion Festival, are coordinating the expo on behalf of the Textile, Clothing and Footwear Resource Centre of Western Australia (TCF WA), supported by the Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources and the Belmont Business Enterprise Centre Inc.
