C Design unzipped to the World
Zip Fashion House has zipped into a uniquely Western Australian opportunity to acquire the popular swimwear label C Design. Zip’s strong global manufacturing and financial capabilities will see C Design relaunched in 2004.
Claire Metcalf, original founder and designer of C Design has been engaged as the Product Development and Marketing Consultant of the swimwear label as well as ongoing development of the VERS fashion range, and design for many of the other labels owned by Zip Fashion House.
Due to Zip Fashion House's extensive distribution capabilities, C Design swimwear will be sold throughout Australia in major leading swimwear retail stores. The swimwear collection will add to Zip's other desirable labels with a full range of swimwear related products such as thongs, towels and Beach umbrellas.
This exciting development for the WA TCF industry came about during the inaugural Designedge- TCF Uncovered trade exhibition where Claire Metcalf of C Design and Zip Fashion House, Iskandar Judodihardjo first met.
Due to the unique and highly successful TCF WA business matching services available at Designedge and now in high demand, online business matching service are now available on the TCF WA website, this one of a kind service will allow many Western Australian labels to grow both nationally and internationally and to source ongoing supply chain requirements, whether they be an agent, clearance lines or raw materials.
The online business matching service, provided by TCFWA generates global TCF exposure and networking opportunities to many Western Australian designers looking to develop their businesses.
Many other investments or opportunities have occurred to overseas countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Shanghai China, Ireland, Luxembourg and the eastern states as a result of TCF WA business matching service and the Designedge trade exhibition.
The exhibition had an excess of over one thousand, industry related delegates attending to view the ninety seven exhibitors that the event had to offer.
The successful three day event included over fourteen informative business seminars, glamorous fashion parades, a lunch with four of Western Australian’s top designers presenting, a breakfast with guest speakers from the eastern states, Sharon Rae from Fashion Forecast Services and Lola Phillips from Longina Phillips Designs.
After the overwhelming support from exhibitors, delegates and international buyers it is believed Designedge will now become an annual event on the Australian Fashion Calendar.
Designedge would not have been able to occur without the support of its valued sponsors, The TCF Resource Centre of WA, Belmont Business Enterprise Centre Inc. and the federal Department of Industry, Tourism and Resources under the TCF Market Development Program in association with Perth Fashion Festival and Gloss Media.
